What Makes AUTENTICA Different? A New Approach to Injectable Skin Rejuvenation

2. The Anti-Gravity Technique

One of the biggest reasons I was interested in Autentica is because it is an Anti-Gravity Skin Restructurer designed around three key objectives: natural lift, deep hydration and improved skin quality. And as someone who is passionate about a personalised, bespoke approach to aesthetics, it got my attention.

Technique is something I place enormous importance on in my own practice. Two practitioners can use the same product but achieve very different outcomes depending on their understanding of anatomy, their injection technique and their approach to product placement. With Autentica, the Anti-Gravity Technique is centred around precise product placement, with the aim of creating a lifted, refreshed appearance without adding unwanted volume. 3. From Hydration to Skin Quality

Many of my patients are coming to me with one thing in mind; hydration. Autentica contains 64mg of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid, bringing hydration into the treatment while the Anti-Gravity Technique focuses on how that product is precisely positioned, making it a unique addition to my clinic.

The current evidence includes an observational clinical study with ultrasound evaluation, involving 22 patients aged between 28 and 69. All participants were treated with Autentica 3.2%, with treatment administered across 44 zygomatic areas. After two treatments, the study reports that 100% of patients had an improvement in their recorded skin texture, with 50% described as having a “very good” texture rating and the remaining 50% a “good” rating at the 60-day assessment. For skin tone, 77.3% of patients were recorded as having a “good” tone rating and the ultrasound measurements found that skin thickness had increased by 18%, although this had settled to a 9.5% increase at 60 days. Adipose tissue thickness increased by 1mm compared with baseline after the first session, settling to approximately 0.6mm above baseline at 60 days.

This is very interesting data, however it is important to consider limitations with these findings. This was a small observational study rather than a large randomised controlled trial with a control or placebo group. That means we cannot establish from this study alone that the changes observed were caused exclusively by Autentica, or compare its effects directly with another treatment. The follow-up period was also relatively short, with the reported assessments extending to 60 days, so the data does not tell us what these changes might look like over a longer period.

It is also worth distinguishing between the different types of measurements. Changes in skin and adipose tissue thickness were assessed using ultrasound, while texture and tone were recorded using the study’s rating measures. These are useful observations, but they should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of a clinically meaningful improvement for every patient.

For me, that distinction is important. Clinical data should inform how we approach a product, however, patient selection, facial anatomy, injection technique, treatment protocol and individual skin characteristics all need to be considered alongside the available evidence.

The current evidence is encouraging, but further research, particularly with larger, controlled studies with longer follow-up, would help to establish the treatment’s effects more robustly.
