  • Microneedling, commonly known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally-invasive treatment that regenerates and improves the complexion and texture of the skin. It stimulates collagen and elastin production, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, stretch marks, and enlarged pores. 

  • Microneedling uses tiny needles to create micro injuries to the skin. This triggers the body’s repair response and skin cell regeneration, boosting collagen and elastin production, which results in smoother, firmer skin. 

  • Microneedling treatments are minimally-invasive and generally not painful. A topical numbing cream is applied to the treated area to avoid discomfort. Clients may feel mild irritation or tingling up to 48 hours post-treatment, but this quickly dissipates within a few days.

  • Results from microneedling treatments may vary from client to client and depend on the skin concern being treated. Skin tightening and pore reduction may be visible immediately after the treatment, whereas skin texture improvement may take up to a few weeks to appear. 

    It generally takes between three to six months to see the full results of the treatment. To achieve maximal skin regeneration, three to four sessions every four to six weeks are recommended.

  • Microneedling treatments are suitable for all skin types and tones. However, they aren’t recommended for clients with active acne, infections, or chronic skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. Practitioners should always conduct pre-treatment consultations to assess clients’ suitability.
