Everything You Need To Know About Nucleofill Treatments

By Erin Murphy

Nucleofill is a revolutionary treatment that offers transformative benefits for your clients. Capable of hydrating and lifting the skin while also having an antioxidant effect, Nucleofill can revitalise the skin in ways that other treatments have not yet been able to match. We’ve compiled an all-encompassing guide to help you discover more about this increasingly popular injectable. Below, you can find out what Nucleofill is, what it’s capable of, and everything else you need to know before you offer the treatment in your clinic.

What is Nucleofill?

Although ‘fill’ is part of its name, Nucleofill is commonly mistaken for a dermal filler.

Instead, Nucleofill is part of the increasingly popular, non-invasive skincare treatments known as polynucleotides.

Derived from salmon or trout DNA, these bio-stimulating treatments utilise fish DNA fragments to revitalise the skin. Working at a cellular level, their effects provide visible improvements and rejuvenated results. After a Nucleofill treatment, clients often see natural-looking results in the form of hydrated, healthier, and more glowing skin.

This treatment is injected into the face, though it can also be used on the neck, hands, and décolletage. It can also be used to stimulate hair growth.

What Is the Difference Between the Nucleofill Products?

There are three variants of Nucleofill treatments available at Fox Pharma, each specifically designed for treating different areas of the body at varying intensities – Nucleofill Soft Plus, Nucleofill Medium, and Nucleofill Strong. These have relatively similar benefits, though each is indicated for different purposes as follows:

Nucleofill Soft Plus

This product is intended for use under the eyes to reduce the appearance of dark circles and wrinkles.

Nucleofill Medium

This product is intended for use on the face, neck, and décolletage to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and enhance skin firmness.

Nucleofill Strong

Used for facial applications to moisturise and lift the skin. This product is useful in improving the appearance of aesthetic concerns such as nasolabial folds and drooping jawlines.

How Does Nucleofill Work?

Nucleofill works by injecting the bio-stimulant gel into the target area. This stimulates the receptors of fibroblasts, which in turn stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Thus, clients have a noticeably improved, younger appearance.

Over time, the production of fibroblasts begins to slow as we age. A polynucleotide treatment such as Nucleofill can make the skin appear more youthful in older clients or can be used as a preventative treatment in younger clients.

What Are the Benefits of Nucleofill?

Nucleofill boasts many benefits that make it an unparalleled new treatment in the aesthetics industry. Below are some of its most significant effects:

  • Neutralises free radicals – Free radicals are unstable atoms that can damage cells. Nucleofill functions as a ‘free radical scavenger’, which finds and neutralises these atoms.
  • Moisturisation – Nucleofill helps to protect the skin’s moisture barrier, locking in moisture for significantly increased skin hydration.
  • Boosts collagen and elastin production – The stimulation of fibroblasts leads to the development of type one collagen and elastin production. As a result, the skin is lifted and its elasticity is increased.

What Can Nucleofill Treat?

Nucleofill can be used to combat a wide range of aesthetic concerns for the skin. With its many beneficial properties, Nucleofill is capable of targeting the following perceived aesthetic flaws:

  • Dehydrated skin
  • Stretch marks
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Scars
  • Loss of skin elasticity

The Nucleofill Treatment Process

The recommended treatment protocol for Nucleofill is to administer it in two to three treatments spaced four weeks apart. Depending on the client’s skin condition, a fourth treatment may be necessary.

Following this process, a top-up treatment is recommended every six to 12 months. The time between top-up treatments will depend on your client’s desired level of correction and, again, their skin condition.

The treatment process is typically well-tolerated, with the most common side effects being some mild swelling or bruising at the injection site. However, this will generally resolve within a day or two. To reduce the chances of this happening, clients should avoid alcohol, blood thinners, and omega-3 supplements 48 hours before treatment.

For any further information regarding the Nucleofill treatment protocol, please refer to our protocol document.
